Justice is Coming: GOT

One of the truest statements that could ever be said about Game of Thrones is its constant handouts of injustice. We’ve seen the good die horribly, and the evil thrive; we’ve watched as characters walk into the televised world of Westeros, bringing with them hope that we may see actions or events that will make our heart’s fill with joy, only for the same characters to be killed off horribly, leaving our hearts, once again, a wreck. The list is long, and continues to grow as each episode passes, especially this season (RIP Doran, Hotah, Osha, Shaggydog, Summer & the greatest hero that ever lived, Hodor). The Sickest Horror Film Ever Made

When it comes to the world of horror films, there tends to be a huge pissing contest between critics, fans and film-makers alike over which one should be crowned with the title of ‘scariest horror film ever made’ or ‘most disturbing horror film ever made’, but of course the main problem with this is the fact that it’s all down to opinion. What this also means however is that it’s hard to find those films that are truly worthy of such titles because you have to wade through so many, and when everyone’s telling you the sludge is gold, it makes the search even harder. GOT: Books vs Show, what the show got right.

Firstly, I just need to get this out the way from the batting line: after watching the first episode of the new season, I was feeling a little uneasy on where the show was going to take us. It was a slow opener, with choices made I didn’t completely agree with (see Dorne rant post) and it just kind of underwhelmed me – what can you expect though eh? It was only the first episode after all, and it has the fun task of setting up the season, so nothing all that exciting could happen. Continue reading “GOT: Books vs Show, what the show got right.”

The Biggest Mistake of ‘The Red Woman’

Well, now that we’ve all had a chance to cool down from the season 6 premier of Game of Thrones, it’s about time we all sat down and discussed. A lot of the cliffhangers we were left with at the end of season 5 have been resolved, while also presenting new questions – obviously getting me and the rest of the thronies even more hyped. What A Man Wishes For Game Of Thrones Season 6

With season six of everyone’s favourite non-porn thing to crank their shafts to just a few hours away, anyone who can call themselves a fan is talking about what kind of epic events we’re in store for this season. In every corner of the world there are people talking and discussing about this beloved show – there have been so many theories, so many online debates, and so many sore fingers as result of the continuous clicking of their mouses to slow down the trailers and spot things in order to dissect them. Let’s Talk About FFC’s ‘Dracula’

When it comes to the character of Dracula, there seems to be a divide. The divide I’m referring to is a divide of interpretation and adaptation; some filmmakers take it upon themselves to use the character simply as a villain, without using Bram Stoker’s novel as a backdrop to do it, whereas others want to explore the character within said novel’s universe – by that I mean adapting the book as a whole rather than just the character. Why the Godfather is a True Masterpiece

It seems that for anyone to classify themselves as a true film lover, they must always take a stance on the films that make all those ‘greatest ever’ lists. Of course, many of those underground critics you over hear talking in restaurants, or debating in pubs about these films will more oft than not be blissfully unaware of the real reason why these films are so revered, having not actually seen them, yet they discuss them all the same which personally, makes me believe there is something truly special about these flicks.
